A Personal Favorite !

 

Now I am not sure if Marilyn Monroe said this or it is an old Chinese proverb. (many times you come across an excellent quote which will be attributed as an “old Chinese proverb” and now I have the impression that all the Chinese are so sagely ) Anyways I am a huge fan of this one, considering I go by the motto Live Every Moment. Laugh Every Day. Love Without Limits. ❤ 

Often we think about something we did in the past and regret on it overtime and curse ourselves wishing if we could change it. But if indeed you could somehow go back in time and find yourself in that state of mind, would you change it? The little things like your first crush not working out or that trip you took and enjoyed so much, but got so broke you had to live off your friends for a week, doesn’t all that have its share of happy memories as well? You were living it up and reveling in the moments of bliss you craved for. ❤ I remember me being distressed for a long time that my crush in school was not even giving me a glance, leave alone asking me out!! 😛 But then I had so much of funn time with my girlies, trying to get his attention and planning out all stupidities you can expect a teenager to do and having a laugh riot with my besties! XD I wouldn’t trade those memories for the world now. ❤

[But on a different track, if you knew you were getting into something grimmer like an abusive relationship or a drug addiction problem, that is SERIOUS and which you would and should definitely change.]

Most importantly the underlying message I get from the quote is that we should not be hard on ourselves if we make mistakes. 🙂 They are part of life and life is short. True, we can learn from them and regret about them but the regret should not turn into punishment. We should all take chances and we never know if we will succeed unless we try. So the next time you (and I) think, nothing is happening according to our wishes and wallow in negativity, let us give ourselves a gentle nudge and remind us we sure had a ball and there were times when things had gone exactly like we wanted. Laugh off the sneaking negative thoughts by taking those lemons life throws at us, to go with some tequila and salt or beat the pulp out if it and get some good ol’ lemonade! 🙂
