Back to the base! (with a huge travel hangover)

Heylow lovelies 🙂 How you doin’ ? (No, no not Joey style. Just normal how arrrre you 😛 ) I know it’s been quite some time and my sincere apologies. As much as I tried, I found it difficult to keep up with the blogging world while being frequently on the move and whattay summer it was. ❤

Well summer is over, birthdays are over, anniversary too and most sadly our east coast adventure is over 😥 (for this year, I console myself). In the last three months, we explored around 10 states of the US and the capital city too. These include

New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont and a bit of Ohio and Missouri as well.

But the highlight of the summer was an 8-day road trip we took along the east coast. Every day since we returned, I have been in a complete state of denial :\ I wake up wishing if I could open my eyes in that charming inn in Vermont amidst the gorgeous mountains with picture-perfect postcard like views with hummingbirds and goldfinches hovering around or to answer the calls of the Cape Cod waves smiling down upon us with a glorious sunrise or I would be even happy if I could just wake up knowing we are going to see some road signs which says “Moose Crossing. Stay Alert” 😦

Since that is not actually going to happen, I get up nowadays with one of the worst travel hangovers ever and continue with the usual routines humming Dido’s Thank You gazing at the photo of me in my hubster’s arms by the turquoise waters of Maldives. (for the uninitiated the lyrics go like

My tea’s gone cold, I’m wondering why I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window and I can’t see at all
And even if I could it would all be grey, but your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it’s not so bad it’s not so bad)

Sigh!!!! Ok, I swear no more of whiny tones. After all, this blog is supposed to be spreading positivity and cheer and let me get to that. Well, summer is gone and the vacation is over but you know what’s not, LIFE !!! 😀 There are infinite summers to come, sunsets to be enjoyed , countless sandy turfs and crashing waves to soak in and an entire planet’s scenery to be explored ❤ So while that thought works its way into my miserable head, let me continue 🙂

Again I am so SORRY I could not update the blog and respond to the comments. With the constant travelling, I found it difficult to update it on real-time basis. And a huge thanks to all my friends and followers who had faith me and did not ditch me in WP and even showed me some love in Instagram as well ❤ It felt so very SPECIAL to know that even when I was not regular, you guys thought me good enough to mention me in your posts, like my previous posts, follow my blog and reblog my content. ❤ ❤ ❤

thank-you-copy

Like I say always, I am blessed and thankful to be part of such an amazing community. Cannot wait to catch up on all the awesome blogs I follow and respond to the comment-loves 🙂 And now that I am back, I would be surely blogging about all our adventures (the hot air balloon pics have come too, yaaay!) and the usual relationship ruminations 😀 In the coming days you can expect to see tons of NYC posts and travel-tales and my humble reviews and suggestions for you on the areas we explored.

i-am-back

    1. Thanks a lot dear ❤ 🙂 Yes, the summer was unbelievable. Maybe too good that everyday after I have come back I wake up with a sinking feeling in the stomach 😛 But thats not gonna prevent me from giving the best to my reviews/travel tales of the places I visited. How are you doing? Any quirky plans executed during summer ? 😉

  2. Yay, welcome back! I’ve missed you but happy you’ve been having fun! Life is more important than blogging, after all, hahahah 🙂 Travel hangover: I’ve definitely been there! Hope the mimosas helped! 😉 (Ps. I also miss hearing Joey’s How you doin’!)

    1. Oooooh can I just send you a virtual hug to know how happy that comment made in all ways 😀 I mean it is always extra special when you meet the FRIENDS fan who catches the references and responds 😀 I went to the actual building in NYC you know? That was the first destination me and hubster went given the fact that he has seen the series more than me 😀 It was soooo amazing. That apartment facade which you have seen all these years, to see it in person. ❤ The interior is a set though, and is replicated in LA.
And travel hangover, sigghhh. I am still struggling. Looking through the photos and writing about it helps. But again you just keep wishing if you could go back in time 😦

      1. Haha yessss. We , ummm have started watching the series again 😶 now that we have been to NYC and it’s so much fun to say “Ooh the ESB” “Oooh the Chrysler” and see it through the eyes of them ❤️ Seriously it never gets old. I know this is a tough question but who is your fav char(s)? 😁

  3. I used to spend my summers on the Cape as a mother’s helper, when I was 11, 12 & 13. We lived in a cottage on a lake, went water-skiing everyday, went to the ocean each morning…loved every minute of it and always came home with the best tan!! 😉 New England is so beautiful to travel through, glad you thought so too!! Hmmm if you plan to come back this way do it in the fall and see all the fall foliage, it’s gorgeous!! Once again..welcome home. xoxo 🙂

    1. Haha yes “lost” is indeed the word. I am working on the writing part but half of the times once I start writing I get wistful and lose myself in the memories 😶 Have to get a grip on it 😁
Thank you sooo much for the super warm welcome dear ❤️ And I never ever can get tired of hearing someone saying they love my writing 😁 After all we are bloggers here and this is definitely sweet music to our ears 😉

  5. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to know that you had such a wonderful time! You got to see and do so many wonderful things! That Vermont Inn, oh how I’d love to see that! And traveling through the national capital, how exciting! How much fun for you to just be able to pick up and go like the wind, seeing all you want to see and doing all you want to do. Watching you and your beloved chase your dreams like that brings me a lot of happiness. 😀

Yes, it is so difficult with all the social media keepup isn't it? Take your time dear, post when you want to. None needs to judge. ❤ Though I love insta. Its like a one stop desti for people with the curious case of travel bug 😀

      3. You make me grin, too, sweetie! 😀 See?

Yes, social media stuff – life in general stuff! I’m learning to like insta – a picture says 1000 words, right? 😀 ❤

    1. Ah, I am so happy you did not complete the sentence Jo. It would have put this travel-sick heart into more misery :\ Yess, I would get to relive them all over again when I write about it but first someone pull me out of the fantasy land I have conjured in my head with all the fav places I have been to and the places I want to go (which keeps on adding as the days go by 😀 )
